Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha In Next 24 Hours

Heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms with lightning is likely to lash Odisha in the next 24 hours, warned the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today. 

Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: Heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms with lightning is likely to lash Odisha in the next 24 hours, warned the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today. 

"A cyclone circulation lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas and a low-pressure is likely to form. By its impact heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur across the State in the next 24 hours," predicted the IMD. 

The IMD has issued an Orange Warning for heavy to heavy rainfall in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Koraput and Sonepur in the next 24 hours. 

Similarly, it has issued Yellow warning of heavy to heavy rainfall for the districts of Malkangiri, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir and Sonepur districts.

The IMD has also predicted rains across the State in the next two days. It has issued Yellow Warning of heavy rainfall for the five districts- Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur and Bolangir from August 8 morning to August 9 morning. 

Similarly, it issued a Yellow Warning for three districts- Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Sambalpur.
