Heavy Rain Likely In Odisha; Orange Warning Issued To 9 Districts

Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: Odisha is likely to witness heavy rainfall in nine districts a change in weather is predicted from February 25.


The India Meteorological Department has issued orange warning for nine districts- Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Kendrapada- predicting heavy to very heavy rain and a wind blow from 50 to 60 km per hour.


Besides, heavy rainfall and wind blow between 40 and 50 kmph is also predicted in parts of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Kandamal. A yellow warning has been issued to these districts.

Similarly, the Regional Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in four districts and a yellow warning for heavy rain in two districts for tomorrow. Angul recorded the highest rainfall of 26 mm in the last 24 hours. Bhubaneswar recorded 22.2 mm rainfall followed by 21 in Dhenkanal, 18.4 in Chandbali, 15 in Talcher and 12.8 mm in Keonjhar. It rained heavily in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
