Bhubaneswar, Jul 6: Odisha’s capital is grappling with intense rainfall triggered by a low-pressure system over Gangetic West Bengal, leading to widespread waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and public distress.
Following this, several low-lying areas faced severe waterlogging while commuters were seen struggling to reach their destination.
Many vehicles, especially buses and cars were found stuck leading to traffic jam on a few major roads.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, which may lead to continued heavy rainfall in the region.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for several districts in Odisha, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
