Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: Odisha continues to reel under scorching heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring past 43°C in multiple districts. In response to the rising temperatures, the Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Warning for some areas.

Severe heatwave alerts have been issued for the districts of Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Dhenkanal. These regions are expected to experience severe heatwave conditions today.

Furthermore, a Yellow Warning for hot and humid weather conditions has been issued for eleven districts: Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Kendrapara. Locals have been advised to take safety measures to avoid heat-related health issues.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department predicts extreme heat conditions tomorrow in six districts: Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda.

However, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected from tomorrow, with a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius likely.

Parts of Odisha may experience light rainfall, particularly in the southern districts, from March 30th onwards. Rainfall is anticipated between April 2 and April 4, bringing relief from the heatwaves.

Authorities advise people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, and follow safety guidelines issued by The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar to combat the effects of extreme heat.
