Heatwave Eases As Thunderstorms Bring Respite To Odisha After Days Of Intense Heat

While Odisha continues to battle intense summer heat, the anticipated rainfall may bring much-needed relief.

Bhubaneswar, Apr 2: Odisha has been facing extreme summer conditions, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees across the state. However, residents have received some relief as the mercury has dropped by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in several parts, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. It is expected to continue for the next five days, bringing temporary relief from the heat.

Due to the formation of a trough over southern Chhattisgarh, the Meteorological reports suggest the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall across the state. The influence of this trough is likely to bring rain to Odisha. A yellow warning  has been issued for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Anugul, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, and Kalahandi, cautioning residents about potential heavy rains.

Additionally, there is also a forecast for rainfall with hailstorms, on April 3, potentially disrupting daily life. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to assess possible impacts.
