Heat Wave In Odisha: Guidelines For Schools And Colleges To Be Issued Soon, Says Revenue Minister Pujari

Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: With Odisha already experiencing heat waves across the state, Odisha Govt will soon issue the guidelines for schools and colleges, said Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari.
Speaking to media persons, Pujari said that special guidelines will be issued in a day or two in view of the heat wave. “Talks have been held with the School and Mass Education Department in this regard,” stated the Odisha Revenue Minister.
“The guidelines will give all the clarity. From when the schools and colleges will have morning classes, it will also be announced keeping students’ safety in mind,” he added.
Odisha experiencing high temperatures
In the last 24 hours, the mercury has touched 37 degrees in 10 cities of the state, while a couple of cities – Boudh and Balangir -- recording above 38 degree Celsius. Boudh recorded the maximum temperature in Odisha at 38.2 C, while Balangir recorded the highest day temperature at 38.1 C.
The maximum temperature of Angul was 37.9 degrees Celsius, Titlagarh recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius, while Bhadrak and Jharsuguda recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius. The mercury in Jajpur touched 37.2 degrees Celsius, while Baripada, Sonepur and Bhawanipatna have recorded 37 degrees Celsius.
The capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius at 2.30 pm and 36.1 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. In Cuttack, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius.
