Baripada, Feb 11: Two funeral pyres will be lit in a single household in Baladia village under Morada block of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district after two brothers died within hours of each other, a source said Wednesday.

Our source from the ground informed that Lukaink Tudu, the younger son of Las Tudu, was critically injured in a motorcycle accident near a petrol pump in Nuagaon at around 11 am on Tuesday. He was initially treated and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced care. However, he succumbed to his injuries late at night while undergoing treatment.

Elder Brother Dies After Hearing of Death
Family members said Lukaink and his elder brother Palu Tudu had grown up together and were deeply attached. According to the source, when news of Lukaink’s death reached home, Palu was overwhelmed with grief. Unable to bear the shock, he suffered a heart attack and died shortly thereafter.

“They could not stay without seeing each other. They grew up hand in hand,” a local said, describing the close bond the two brothers shared.

Family Appeals for Support
While Lukaink was unmarried, Palu is survived by his wife Mamita and their two daughters. One of the girls studies in Class-3 and the other in Class-4.

With the sudden loss of both brothers, the family has been left devastated. Mamita has appealed for assistance to support her daughters’ education and livelihood. “I request help so that my daughters can continue their studies,” she said.

The tragic incident has left the entire village in mourning, with residents expressing shock over the double loss suffered by the family.
