Sundargarh, Mar 28: A heated argument between two groups turned violent late last night near a roadside eatery at Deogarh area under Raghunathpali police jurisdiction in Sundargarh's Rourkela city.

According to reports, an argument broke out between two groups for some unknown reason. Irate over the altercation, one of them opened fired. However, no injuries were reported.

On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and apprehended two persons in connection with the case.

While the firing incident has sparked concern among locals, a preliminary investigations suggest that the altercation took place following a longstanding rivalry between the two groups.

A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
