Jagatsinghpur, Aug 5: Tensions flared at SVAM College in Jagatsinghpur district as a violent clash broke out between two student groups. Following the incident, a student of a science stream sustained serious injuries.

The victim, identified as Aman Mahapatra, a Class 12 science student, was allegedly attacked by a group of students near the college premises.

According to reports, Aman was called aside by a few students while on his way to college. The confrontation escalated when the attackers questioned his association with another student group and began assaulting him.

During the attack, Aman sustained a head injury and was rushed to Jagatsinghpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.

Later, separate FIRs have been lodged at Jagatsinghpur Sadar Police Station, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.

Police officials have confirmed that both students and non-students were part of the assault group.

College authorities have expressed concern over the incident and are cooperating with law enforcement to ensure campus safety.
