The committee, comprising 13 MPs and the Panchayati Raj Secretary, aims to assess the effectiveness of programmes and schemes like MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) through ground-level studies and field visits.

The committee members began their day with darshan at the Jagannath Temple at around 8 am, followed by a meeting with state-level officials and district administration from 10 am to 2 pm.

Reportedly, the discussions are focused on the reach and management of central schemes, ensuring their benefits are delivered to the intended recipients.

Field visits in the Sadar region are planned to gather firsthand insights into the schemes' impact.

According to reports, the committee will compile a comprehensive report based on their observations and submit it to the central government.
