Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: Odisha Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has provided update over the development on the possible price rise of liquor in the state.
Harichandan, who is also in charge of the law and works departments, said that price fixation committee report has already been submitted and the government will take a call in this matter.
"We already have the report from Price Fixation Committee. Next is up to the government as they will take the final call in this matter," said the Excise Minister.
He also said that the price fixation committee's role is crucial in this matter. "Though the government takes the final call, it was the price fixation committee who is responsible for taking a call on any price hike considering various factors," explained Harichandan.
Elaborating the committee's job, the Excise Minister said that they take a call after having discussions with all the stakeholders.
"The meeting regarding the price rise took place three days ago. It has already submitted its report. Now it's up to the government, who has the authority to take the final call," Prithviraj Harichandan signed off.
