Bhubaneswar, March 22: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati praised Bihar’s historical and cultural contributions to India while addressing the Bihar Foundation Day celebrations at the New Abhishek Hall in Raj Bhavan, on Saturday.
Governor Kambhampati highlighted Bihar’s rich heritage, describing it as a land of great history and wisdom. “Bihar has played a crucial role in shaping our nation, and its contributions continue to inspire generations,” he said. He emphasized that while each state has its unique identity, together, they create a strong and united India.
He reflected on Bihar’s legacy as a cradle of civilization and the birthplace of spiritual and intellectual icons such as Lord Mahavira, Guru Gobind Singh, Chanakya, and Aryabhata. He also spoke about the significance of ancient learning centers like Nalanda and Vikramshila universities, along with Bodh Gaya’s global prominence for Buddhism.
The Governor noted that celebrating state Foundation Days aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble President and Prime Minister, reinforcing the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. “Such occasions strengthen national unity, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding,” he added.

Acknowledging the deep ties between Odisha and Bihar, he praised the contributions of the Bihari community in Odisha’s progress across various fields. “Odisha has always been a welcoming land, embracing people from different regions who come here to build their dreams,” he said.
He urged the youth of Bihar and Odisha to actively contribute to Viksit Bharat, a vision for a developed and inclusive India, emphasizing the importance of national unity and progress.
The event featured cultural performances celebrating the rich traditions of Bihar and Odisha. Kirshan Kumar Mantoo, Minister of IT Department, Bihar Government, also addressed the gathering, while Principal Secretary to the Governor, NBS Rajput, delivered the welcome address.
