Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Odisha’s Governor-designate, Hari Babu Kambhampati will arrive in Bhubaneswar today and visit Puri to seek blessings of Lord Shree Jagannath ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.
As per official sources, 71-year-old Hari Babu is scheduled to take oath as the new Governor of Odisha on January 3, 2025. He will replace Raghubar Das.
Hari Babu, a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, was elected to the Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly from the Visakhapatnam-1 assembly constituency in 1999 and to the Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency in 2014.
He was a member of the task force constituted by the Centre for the interlinking of rivers from 2003 to 2004. A PhD holder, Hari Babu worked as a faculty member for 24 years at Andhra University Engineering College before taking the political plunge.

✨He was appointed Mizoram Governor in July 2021.
Earlier, the President of India accepted the resignation of Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha. Das was appointed to the position of Governor on October 18, 2023.
After accepting the resignation of Raghubar Das, President Droupadi Murmu had appointed Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati as the new Governor of Odisha.
