Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: Odisha Government has found signs of gold mines in multiple places across the state, says Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister of Steel & Mines.
Responding to a question during the question hour at the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Jena said that gold mines have been identified in various districts of Odisha, including Sundargarh, Nabarangpur, Angul, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sambalpur, and Boudh, following earlier discoveries in Deogarh and Keonjhar.
In addition, the Odisha Steel & Mines Minister said that preliminary research is also underway for the exploration of gold mines in specific locations of Mayurbhanj district, such as Jasipur, Suriaguda, Ruansi, Idelkucha, Maredihi, Suleipat (Dhursura Hills), and Badampahad.
Previously, during G-2 level exploration for copper ore in the Adasa-Rampalli area of Deogarh, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) uncovered gold deposits.
Exploration works to identify gold mines are underway in various locations in Keonjhar district, such as Gopur-Gajipur Mankadachuan, Saleikana, and Dimirimunda.
