Nayagarh, Mar 20: Gold ornaments and cash worth lakhs of rupees were stolen from the newly built Ram Temple at Fategarh in Nayagarh district last night. 

A priest and some management people saw the donation box lying broken on the temple premises when they entered the shrine to start the day's ritual early this morning.  

On being informed by them, the Fategarh police went to the temple and started an investigation. 

It may be noted that the Ram Temple was inaugurated on January 22 the day when the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple at Ayodhya took place. The magnificent Ram Temple is located on a hilltop at Fategarh.
