Sambalpur, Jan 12: The examinations at Gangadhar Meher (GM) University in Sambalpur have been postponed due to ‘Nua O’ programme, much to the worry of students.
The exams for third semester undergraduates and postgraduates, which were scheduled for January 13, have now scheduled to be held on January 24..
According to reports, ‘Nua O’ programme by the Odisha government has been scheduled to be organised at Mandalia ground in the university premises on Saturday i.e on 13th january.
Keeping this in view, the Zilla Parishad of Samabalpur has asked the university authorities to postpone the exam to a later date. BJD leader VK Pandian is scheduled to attend the programme to be held tomorrow.
What has furhter worried students is that the University authorities have asked the students to join the 'Nua O' Programme. The authorities have spread this instruction through whatsapp Group.

✨Meanwhile, many students had expressed resentment over the postponement of their exams.
“We were preparing for our examinations as per the schedule. We were mentally set also. Due to postponement, we will be disturbed now," said a student.
Another student also vented his ire saying Government and university authorities are now playing with the students' future. ‘Nua O’ programme could have been organised on a later date, he contended.
"The government rescheduled our exams to make us take part in their political programme. It is very bad for our education system,” said a girl student.
