Balasore, Jan 16: In a ghastly act, a girl attacked her parents with a traditional vegetable chopper as they asked her not to use her phone. The incident took place in Hatigadia village of Sarasankha Gram Panchayat under Soro police station limits in Balasore district last night.

The accused girl has been identified as Kuni Singh. She attacked her mother Buduni Singh when Buduni asked her to stop talking on her phone and join them for dinner. 

The infuriated Kuni took the vegetable cutter and injured her mother's hand. The girl's father Ranjit Singh went forward to save his wife. In the ensuing fight he also got injured. 

Hearing the loud cries of the couple, locals rushed to their home and admitted them in the Community Health Centre in Soro. 
The residents have expressed anguish over this incident.
