Cuttack, Jan 19: A gas pipeline belonging to GAIL India burst in Cuttack’s CDA Sector‑10 on Monday, triggering panic among residents.

The leak occurred during some construction work when a JCB machine accidentally damaged the pipeline. Fire services and GAIL India’s emergency response team rushed to the site, where repair operations are currently underway.

Authorities confirmed that the situation is under control, though the incident briefly raised concerns over safety in the area.

A nearby petrol pump, vegetable vendors, and local people were at risk, and authorities noted that any escalation could have led to a major mishap, raising serious safety concerns in the area.
