Ganjam, May 13: A devastating road accident near Kulangi village in Gangapur police station limits in Ganjam district has claimed the lives of two individuals, leaving seven others critically injured.

The deceased have been identified as Chandrama Gauda and Badal Gauda.

According to reports, a Tata ACE vehicle carrying around 30 passengers was en route to Badaborasingi village for a religious gathering when the driver lost control over the wheels and skidded off the road. As a result, the vehicle overturned. Following the incident, two persons died on the spot while seven others sustained critical injuries.

The injured persons were initially rushed to Bhanjanagar Medical Center, and later shifted to Brahmapur Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.

Later, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
