Ganjam, Jul 23: In a deeply tragic incident, an elderly man from Badhiausta village under Patapur police limits in Ganjam district died by suicide after setting himself ablaze. The man reportedly poured kerosene over himself and ignited the fire, leading to fatal burn injuries.

 

According to local sources, the victim was found in a severely burned state and was immediately rushed to Adapada Medical Centre. Despite efforts to save him, doctors declared him dead upon arrival due to the extent of his injuries.

 

Police have recovered a suicide note from the scene, which sheds light on the emotional distress the man was experiencing. In the note, he reportedly wrote, “I do not wish to live anymore. Please take good care of my wife.” The message, which was directed to his son, has left the local community in shock.
