Berhampur, Dec 26: Hanging bodies of a man and a woman have been recovered from a hill area near Berhampur, Thursday.
The man and woman are suspected to be lovers and their bodies were recovered from the hill area near Alarigarh village under Berhampur Sadar Police Station.
The deceased have been identified as Sumitra Sahoo and Rajendra Sahoo. Police are suspecting the duo to be lovebirds considering both were married to different partners.
Sumitra was the wife of Santosh Sahoo, a native of Patapur village under Patapur police station, while Rajenda, son of Simanchal Sahoo, had been married to another woman. Rajendra was a native of Radhadeipur village under Patapur police station.
As per reports, the duo, who also have three children combined, were missing since December 19. The duo's missing reports were registered at Patapur police station by Sumitra's husband and Rajendra's wife.
However, there had been talks among villagers over their extra marital affairs. There had also been talks that the duo have eloped.
However, the scenario has now been changed a bit after both of them have been found dead. Police have started an investigation into this matter.
It is yet to ascertained whether it is a case of suicide or murder. More details are awaited in this connection.
