Berhampur, Mar 26: Devotees in large numbers started visiting the Tara Tarini Pitha in Ganjam district today as the goddesses' famous Chaitra Yatra kickstarted today. 

The Chaitra Yatra will be celebrated on all five Tuesdays in the current Odia month of Chaitra. Today is the first Tuesday. 

Special puja is conducted on these five Tuesdays at the temple. 

According to information, devotees in thousands have turned up to pay obeisance to the deity on this special day.  

About 25 buses are plying from the foothill and to the hilltop to carry devotees to the temple. 

The local administration has put in all facilities for the devotees visiting the temple. Parking places and barricades have been constructed for the smooth movement of people. The administration has set up drinking water facilities. 
As people conduct a special ritual called 'Mundan' (head saving), five places have been identified to avert the rush.
