Ganjam, Jun 28: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Saturday launched simultaneous searches on the properties of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Ganjam Block on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

The accused officer has been identified as Sunil Kumar Panda.

Acting on reliable inputs, the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous raids at seven locations linked to Panda, including his residence in Ankuli, his office at Ganjam Block, and properties in Puri, his in-laws’ house in Purushottampur, and other premises in Berhampur and Kabisuryanagar.

The raids, carried out under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur, involved a large team of officers including six DSPs and seven Inspectors.

Officials reportedly seized documents, property records, and financial evidence, which are now under scrutiny.

This high-profile action comes amid the state’s intensified crackdown on corruption in public service. If proven, the findings could lead to serious legal consequences for the accused officer.
