Gajapati, Sep 17: Tensions flared at the Upper Primary School in Machhmara village in Gosani block of Gajapati district, after a heated argument among teachers escalated into a physical altercation.

According to reports, PT teacher Pahali Das and Hindi teacher Subash Chandra Pradhan allegedly assaulted two primary school teachers during a verbal dispute. The incident reportedly turned violent, resulting in injuries on school ground.

Following the incident, angry parents and villagers locked the school gates early this morning and staged a sit-in protest demanding immediate action.

Protesters voiced strong concerns over the conduct of the teachers, stating that such behaviour is unacceptable in an institution meant to nurture children.

The Block Education Officer (BEO) visited the site in an attempt to pacify the situation and initiate dialogue.
