Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The Bhubaneswar Additional District Judge Tuesday sentenced four persons to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of Arup Behera in 2017 in Jatni area.

The accused persons, identified as Halu Behera, Runal Behera, Gopinath Behera, and Nalu Behera, were also fined with Rs 25,000 each. Failure to which will result in an additional year of rigorous imprisonment.

The case began from a violent altercation over an inappropriate comments at the victim's sister. The argument turned ugly and resulted in a tragic loss of life after Arup attempted to defend his sister.

The prosecution, led by government lawyer Salil Pradhan, successfully argued the case, ensuring justice for the victim and his family.
