Chatra, Apr 27: At least four persons were killed while another person sustained injuries after their speeding vehicle dashed into a roadside tree near Chatra in Jharkhand late on Saturday night.

However, the identity of the deceased persons were not known immediately.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the victims were returning from Bhadrakali temple in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels and rammed the vehicle into a tree. The impact of the accident was so intense that four individuals died on the spot while one person sustained critical injuries.

On being informed about the incident, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured person to a nearby hospital.

Reportedly, police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the incident.
