Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: Four eminent people from Odisha have been selected for the Padma Shri award for the year 2025, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday. 

The four are – Dr Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, Adwaita Charan Gadanayak, Durga Charan Ranbir and Pratibha Satpathy.

While renowned doctor Ashok Mohapatra will be conferred with the Padma Shri award for his significant contributions in the field of medicine, Pratibha Satpathy will receive the prestigious award for her outstanding contributions to literature and education.

Similarly, Adwaita Charan Gadanayak and Durga Charan Ranbir will receive Padma Shri in Art discipline.

The President has approved the conferment of 139 Padma Awards including seven Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri Awards.

The awards are given in various disciplines, such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service etc.
