Four Doctors Dismissed In 'PG Student Assault' Case

Berhampur, Dec 29: Four doctors were dismissed from jobs for allegedly assaulting PG students in the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur. Besides, another doctor has been restricted entry to the hostel for six months.
MKGC Medical authorities took this action on the advice of the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). The doctors, who were shown the door, were Dr Purushottam Swain, Dr. Aryan Kumar Mohanty, Dr. Chinmaya Mohanty of the Orthopaedic Department), and Dr Yasbant Veera of the General Surgery Department.
Dr Priyajit Sahu, a second-year PG Student of the Orthopaedic Department, has been asked not to enter the hostel for six months.

✨It may be mentioned here that a PG student was thrashed in Hostel-3 on December 20. The Medical Council met and discussed the matter on December 23. On its recommendation, the DMET directed action.
MKCG Medical College and Hospital Dean Dr Suchitra Das informed about the action.
