Bhubaneswar, Sep 22: The Badagada police have arrested four individuals in connection with the Ola driver murder case, while several others remain absconding.

The arrested accused have been identified as N. Dillip Kumar, Ramesh Chandra Behera, K. Rabindra, and Deepak Kumar Sahukar — all residents of the Parlakhemundi region. They face charges of kidnapping, abetment to suicide, and destruction of evidence. Police have also booked a woman accomplice under similar charges.

Notably, the body of an Ola driver, identified as Bidyadhar Sahoo, had been recovered from the Chandaka forest on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, days after he was reported missing.

According to reports, Bidyadhar was abducted from Bhubaneswar on September 15. His family had lodged a missing complaint, and later, the kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore. The body was discovered in the forest on Saturday morning, triggering a full-scale investigation.

Police suspect the involvement of more than eight individuals in the kidnapping and murder. Raids are being conducted across multiple locations to apprehend the remaining accused. The motive behind the crime is still under investigation, though financial extortion appears to be a key angle.
