Sonepur, Jul 10: Police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of one Ballabh Kheti, the former sarpanch of Gajabandh Panchayat in Odisha’s Sonepur district.
The former sarpanch was brutally hacked to death near Pandarapali village on July 10.
According to reports, Kheti was returning home when a group of assailants attacked him with sharp weapons. Although he was rushed to Dunguripali Community Health Centre, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Based on the complaint, four individuals, identified as-Jogeshwar, Dhananjay, Govind and Hrushikesh were arrested and produced in the court.
The development was announced during a press briefing by the Superintendent of Police, who confirmed that the case has been cracked and further inquiries are underway to determine the motive behind the murder.
