Bhubaneswar, Aug 13: Odisha Vigilance Tuesday arrested Tara Prasad Mishra, former chief engineer of Roads & Building (Civil) for accumulating assets disproportionately to his known sources of income.

During the searches, vigilance officials found him to have possessed disproportionate assets including 10 high-value flats in Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda, 7 costly plots, gold 2.555 Kg, diamond 370 gms,  deposits over Rs.2.70 crore, cash Rs 6 Lakhs, two luxurious cars including a  Mercedes Benz.

Teams comprising 12 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, 16 ASIs, and other supporting staff searched Mishra's establishments at 9 places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Jharsuguda on the strength of a court warrant issued against him. 

Searches conducted at the following places: 

1. Residential house at Flat No 103, Arpan Apartment, Nayapalli , Bhubaneswar.
2. Flat No. K-155A, 15th Floor, at Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar.
3. Flat No. K-035, 3rd Floor, Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar. 
4. Flat No. 307, Ashiana Apartment, Jharsuguda.
5. Flat No. 17, Ashiana Apartment, Jharsuguda. 
6. Flat No. 207, Ashiana   Apartment, Jharsuguda.
7. His parental house at Athagarh, Cuttack.
8. House of Mishra's relative at Tigharia, Cuttack.
9. House of his another relative at Plot No. 1191, Nilakantha Nagar, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.

Tara Prasad Mishra has travelled to the following countries-

1. UAE 
2. Vietnam 
3. USA
4. Singapore 
5. Malaysia
6. Canada
7. Thailand

Further investigation in this connection is underway, said Vigilance in a release.
