Former IPS Officer Prakash Mishra Appointed As Advisor To Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: Retired IPS officer and former Director General of Odisha Police, Prakash Mishra has been appointed as the advisor to Chief Minister of Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi, officials said on Monday.
“Prakash Mishra, a retired IPS officer, has been appointed as the advisor to the Chief Minister in the rank of Cabinet Minister,” reads a notification issued by the General Administration Department.
Mishra, a 1977-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, retired in 2016 from the post of Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
He also served as Director General of Police (DGP) in Odisha from 2012 to 14, apart from heading the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and having stints at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Union Home Ministry while on central deputation.

✨The former IPS officer had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2019 general elections. He had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Cuttack constituency on a BJP ticket.
Recently, Mishra penned a book called “Comedy in Khakee”, which depicts a collection of funny anecdotes ranging from his childhood days to his tenure an IPS officer.
