Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: Former Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena was appointed as the new Chairman of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) today.
The State government appointed Jena, a retired IAS officer, by the order of the Governor. "In exercise of the power conferred under Sub-section-5 of Section-82 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (No.36 of 2003), the State governmnet is pleased to appoint Shree Pradeep Kumar Jana, IAS (Retd.), as Chairperson, Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) with effect from the date he assuses the office," read a notification issued by the Energy Department.
Notably, the OERC Chairperson post had been lying vacant since Suresh Mohapatra retired from the post a few months back.
