Jharsuguda, May 19: Police on Thursday arrested former Brajrajnagar Municipal Chairman Kishore Agrawal along with three others for allegedly extorting money illegally from truck owners involved in coal transportation in Odisha's Jharsuguda district.

The arrests come after long-standing allegations that the accused had been collecting unauthorized payments from transporters over several years.

Following a series of raids at multiple locations, police apprehended the four individuals and have since produced them in court. The crackdown is part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal practices in the coal transport sector, which has long been plagued by extortion and coercion.
