Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: Former Bhubaneswar- Madhya MLA Bijaya Kumar Mohanty passed away on Sunday. He was 60.

According to the informaiton, Mohanty died of a heart attack. Mohanty represented the Bhubaneswar-Madhya Assembly constituency to the Odisha Legislative Assembly twice in 2009 and 2014. He won both terms on BJD tickets.

Mohanty worked for the welfare of slum dwellers and poor people in his constituency and Bhubaneswar.

Hearing about his untimely death, leaders and near and dear ones rushed to his house to pay their last respects to the immortal soul.
