Bhubaneswar, Sep 1: The Food Safety Department on Tuesday conducted inspections at several food outlets in Bhubaneswar as part of a citywide drive to check food quality and compliance with safety standards.
One of the inspections was carried out at a popular fast-food outlet located inside Pal Heights Mall in the Jayadev Vihar area. Food safety officials examined food items being prepared and sold at the outlet, along with their storage and handling conditions, a source informed.
The inspection was conducted under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Satyajit Patel. Three teams were deployed simultaneously to carry out checks at different food outlets and locations in the city.

During the inspection, officials paid particular attention to outlets selling frozen food products. They checked the quality, condition and storage practices of frozen food items to determine whether they were being handled and stored in accordance with food safety requirements.
