Balasore, Jun 22: The flood situation along the Subarnarekha River has worsened, leaving over 30 villages across five panchayats in Baliapal block severely affected. Administrative teams have struggled to reach the stranded residents, many of whom remain cut off from essential aid.

In Jamkunda panchayat, more than a hundred villagers have taken shelter on the Jamkunda lock road, seeking refuge from the rising waters. As night falls, fear grips the displaced families, with anxiety mounting in the darkness. Hunger and uncertainty loom large as they await government assistance.

The District Collector of Balasore has visited the flood-hit areas, assuring the public that immediate relief measures will be implemented to address their urgent needs.
