Bhubaneswar, July 22: The first session of the newly constituted 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) is all set to begin Monday.
The session is expected to be very stormy considering the Opposition parties -- BJD and Congress -- deciding to take on the Mohan Majhi Government over various issues.
Ahead of the session, an all-party meeting took place Sunday under the chairmanship of Speaker Surama Padhi. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and two deputy CMs -- KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Opposition Chief Whip Pramila Mallik, Ministers -- Mukesh Mahalinga and Prithviraj Harichandan were present in the meeting.

✨Reacting to the absence of any Congress leader, senior party MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said his party was yet to choose a Congress Legislature Party Leader. "Congress is a big party. But nobody joined the meeting as the AICC has not decided yet," said Bahinipati.
Speaker Padhi sought cooperation from all parties for the smooth functioning of the House.
According to the schedule, the session will begin with Governor Raghubar Das addressing the House. The election to the Deputy Speaker Post will be held July 24. Chief Minister Majhi will present the annual State Budget in the House July 25.
