Jagatsinghpur, Mar 28: A devastating fire engulfed a house in Lunipokhari village under Kujang Panchayat of Ersama Block in Jagatsinghpur district late on Thursday night.

The fire claimed the life of house owner, Ramesh Swain. Ramesh reportedly died of cardiac arrest after being shocked over the death of his four cows in the fire mishap. Cattle rearing was his primary source of income. In extreme anguish, Ramesh collapsed at the scene.

The fire also destroyed household articles, furnitures, crops and clothes leaving his family in despair. 

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascetrained.

The fatal fire mishap has spread a shock wave in the community.
