Cuttack, May 17: A massive fire broke out at a biscuit factory in Jagatpur Industrial Area today, causing significant damage. The blaze, which started between 10:15 AM and 10:30 AM, spread rapidly due to the presence of plastic packaging materials and edible oils inside the factory.

Three firefighting teams worked relentlessly for over half an hour to bring the flames under control. Their swift action prevented the fire from spreading to nearby factories, though minor damage was reported in adjacent areas.

While the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, an investigation is underway to determine the source. Preliminary assessments suggest that the incident has resulted in damages worth lakhs of rupees, leaving the factory owner devastated.

Authorities are continuing their probe into the matter to ensure necessary safety measures are reinforced to prevent future incidents.
