Bhubaneswar, Aug 21: A major fire break out at a women’s hostel located near Forest Bungalow Road in Berhampur on Thursday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the blaze allegedly triggered by a gas leak from a cylinder inside one of the rooms.

On being informed, the Fire Department reached the spot and successfully extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

Fortunately, all women residing in the hostel are safe, and no injuries have been reported. However, furniture and other items inside the room were damaged.

Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the leak.

The incident has raised concerns about safety protocols and equipment maintenance in residential hostels.
