Nuapada, Oct 31: A tribal youth named Jitu Adabeng from Komna in Nuapada district filed an FIR on Friday against BJD’s former organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das, also known as Bobby Das, and Khariar MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi. He has alleged physical assault and threats to his life in connection with the upcoming Nuapada by-election.
According to the complaint, Jitu was summoned to the
farmhouse of BJD General Secretary Manoj Mishra by Bobby Das. Upon arrival, he
was reportedly questioned about his political shift from BJD to BJP. The
situation escalated when Jitu claimed that both Bobby Das and Adhiraj Panigrahi
physically assaulted him and threatened to kill him for his defection.
Jitu further stated that he was rescued from the farmhouse
by the Komna police IIC and Khariar SDPO, who intervened after receiving
information about the incident. The FIR has sparked outrage among local
communities and intensified the political rivalry between BJD and BJP in the
region.

While BJD leaders have yet to respond publicly, BJP has
condemned the incident and demanded immediate action. The case is under
