Belgaon, Mar 31: In a shocking turn of events, the Belgaon Danda Nacha Committee witnessed violent discord among its members, culminating in the tragic death of Jagadish Panigrahy, a resident of Kama village under the Belgaon Police Station in Ganjam district, Odisha.
The incident unfolded in Jena Sahi under the jurisdiction of the Badabazar Police Station.
Reports suggest that a heated argument broke out between Jagadish and Trinath Panigrahy, the head and officer of the Belgaon Danda Nacha Committee, during an ongoing Danda Nacha performance.
The altercation escalated as Trinath, aided by his son Pradeep Panigrahy, attacked Jagadish with a knife, targeting his neck and other parts of the body.
Jagadish sustained severe injuries and was rushed to MKCG Medical College for treatment. However, medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival.
