Berhampur, Feb 9: Fear has gripped people in a village in Ganjam district after a leopard dragged a cow away from the village and killed it last night.

According to information, a leopard entered Hatigada village under the Mujagada forest range of the North Ghumusara forest division in Ganjam district last night.

It dragged away a cow from the shed to a distant place in the village and then mauled it to death.

Villagers knew about the incident after a few minutes and have had sleepless nights since then. 

"For the last five days, tiger terror had gripped the village but we had got no response from the forest official", complained a villager.
