The deceased farmer was identified as Banamali Panthei, a resident of Baranga village under Chatrapur block. Banamali hanged himself with a rope to end his life.
According to the family, Banamali was a sharecropper. He took up cultivation work on five acres of land. However, his crops were damaged due to the stagnation of rainwater in the fields.
Paddy sprouted after getting soaked in rainwater in the fields.

✨Banamali had borrowed about Rs 2 lakh to undertake cultivation in the Kharif season.
Informed, Chatrapur PS IIC along with his staff reached the spot and started an investigation.
