Malkangiri, Sep 12: In a high-intensity anti-Maoist operation near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, security forces gunned down two hardcore Maoist insurgents in the dense forests of Indravati National Park, located in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh.

 

The operation, which involved joint teams from the Special Task Force (STF), District Reserve Guard (DRG), and CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit, led to a fierce exchange of gunfire that is still ongoing.

 

According to police sources, the bodies of two Maoists have been recovered, and there is suspicion that more insurgents may have been killed during the encounter. Security personnel also seized two rifles and a large cache of explosives and Maoist materials from the site.
