Bhubaneswar, Jul 19: A pick-up truck loaded with explosives reportedly lost control and rammed into a road divider near Alipur Square on National Highway 16 late last night.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 11 PM on Friday as the vehicle, travelling from Bhubaneswar towards Soro, lost control over the wheels and rammed into a divider near Alipur Square.

While there were no casualties reported, the driver of the vehicle, on the other hand, fled the scene.

On being informed, highway patrol police swiftly responded and recovered the vehicle, later transporting it to the Soro police station.

The truck was filled with gelatins—an explosive material—raising concerns over its intended destination and the nature of its transport.

Reportedly, authorities have begun a thorough investigation into the origin, purpose, and route of the explosive consignment.

Soro Police have launched inquiries to determine who was transporting the material and where it was headed.
