Balasore, May 20: District Headquarters Hospital in Balasore once again landed in controversy as reports of expired medicines being administered to patients has come to fore.

The incident has raised serious concerns about medical negligence, with affected families demanding immediate action against those responsible.

According to reports, a person named D Om Prakash Das was admitted to hospital for treatment. Following the doctor’s prescription, his family collected medicines from the Niramaya Drug Distribution Center within the hospital premises. However, upon closer inspection, they discovered that the medicines had expired in April, yet were still being dispensed to patients.

The patient’s family, shocked by the discovery, confronted hospital authorities, alleging that expired drugs could have endangered lives. They claimed that had they not checked the medicine, it could have led to serious health complications. The incident was captured on camera, further fueling public outrage.

This controversy follows a recent ultrasound report mismatch scandal at the same hospital, where discrepancies in medical reports led to widespread tension. The latest issue has intensified concerns over hospital mismanagement, with locals demanding stricter regulations and accountability.
