Nuapada, Feb 9: An exchange of gunfire ensued between security personnel and Maoists in Sunabeda sanctuary in Nuapada district this morning.
According to the information, CRPF's 216 Batallion personnel were conducting a combing operation in a jungle near Barkot when they saw a Maoist camp. Maoists soon fired at them, forcing them to retaliate with gunfire. Even though five rounds of gunfire were exchanged, Maoists managed to flee from the spot.
Security personnel are conducting a combing operation in the jungle. The search operation is still on.
