Bhubaneswar, July 20: The Revenue Department Saturday said encroached land would be evicted from encroachers, and a patch of 4 decimal land would soon be distributed to landless families. 

Concerned officials of the Revenue Department have been advised in this regard, said Minister Suresh Pujari. 

"Criminals and influential persons have encroached on government land.  The land will be evicted from them," said Pujari. 

He said unutilized land would be brought back from educational institutions. 

"We will bring back land from encroachers and unutilized land from educational institutions. We will distribute four decimal lands to each landless family," said Pujari. 

The Minister further hinted that work for auto-mutation to heirs has started. A process has also been initiated to link Tehsil offices to the birth and death registration system.

Attempts are being made to simplify the auto-mutation system, said the Minister.
